Paintings in progress

My head has been buried in oil and canvas for the last few weeks and so besides gearing up for the Adelaide Fringe, Kustom Kulture Weekender there is not much to talk about!

Here are the paintings I have been working on:

Halloween Happy hour.. it's nearly there! I think I've been chipping away at this one for at least a month (or more). I will be posting her for sale on my website in the next week or so.

As I haven't done an enormous amount of painting in my life (I found myself bound to photoshop for a number of years) I consider each painting a learning journey. I have attempted to teach myself a bit of colour theory in this one (I'm mostly self taught in all things arty). I'm not sure that I've got it down pat but I do love to see the energy that colours can radiate when you get it a little bit right!

Lotus (Sold) This is just a small oil painting. It's been hard to get a good photo, I will share this again when I have a good image for you.

This nearly didn't get painted as she misbehaved. I have decided that acrylic paints are just not my cup of tea. I repainted her in oils (background is in acrylic).

I have had 'Evolve' sitting in a corner, waiting to be finished for a few months now, this will be next on my 'to do' list!

And for something a little bit different, I would like to share a time lapse video from one of my favourite artists (I like all sorts of different genres!), Tara McPherson I just adore her use of colour (wishing I knew so much!) and it's really interesting to watch another artist at work.

Hopefully this link works:

But if not, here's the link to her blog:
